Hot Summer Fun for Labor Day

It’s August and the warm weather isn’t going anywhere, crowds of people are still lingering after a spectacular week of Carnival and I can still barely manage to find a suitable parking spot at the beach (or anywhere else). For better or worse, all of this will soon change as Labor Day weekend will signal the ceremonial end of summer here on the Cape. Whether you’re from the area or planning to travel from afar, Provincetown is the best place on Cape to spend your Labor Day Weekend, with plenty of events going on from the 1st to the 3rd. But don’t think this long weekend is the last hurrah. Check the local calendar for the next couple months if you have any doubts about that.

Here are my top picks for things to do this Labor Day Weekend in PTown;

White Party Provincetown – An event that has been going on since 1986 where friends and friends of friends get together and celebrate the spectacular summer season.  Everyone dresses in white (anything goes) and enjoys cocktails by Cape Cod Bay.  This year is the 32nd Annual White Party at Delft Haven by the Bay on 7 Commercial Street and it will begin at 2pm.  Ever since 2011, the White Party has raised more than $200,000 for its beneficiary Outer Cape Health Services.

Bob the Drag Queen – Bob, the fabulous and well know entertainer, comedian and drag queen will be live at the Provincetown Town Hall at 8:30pm on September 3rd.  This is your chance to see Bob who won Season 8 of RuPaul’s drag race! For more details or tickets please click here.  Just as a reminder, the 2018 Town Hall series is raising funds for Sandy Hook Promise

Get to the Beach! – Take time to slow down, reflect on the Summer and surround yourself with natural beauty. Provincetown has some of the best and biggest beaches anywhere….soak up the sun and salty air while you can!

Have fun and be safe!
