Light Up Your Life and Your Night

How many times in a Provincetown blog entry can I say “It’s that time of year again!”? There are so many terrific annual events, this statement holds true on a monthly basis! The holiday season, bringing no exception, offers a variety of fun events that draw visitors from near and far. Here are two fun annual gatherings for you to attend amidst all hustle and bustle of friends and family, event planning, and of course, shopping.

Lighting of the Pilgrim Monument – Wednesday, November 21st (5pm – 7pm); Join over a thousand locals and visitors for this holiday tradition where more than 3,100 lights will shine down from the top of Provincetown’s most iconic landmark. This year the lighting ceremony will be for everyone who needs a little Light and Love and the Monument is even running a photo contest for the best picture of the lights. Lobster Pot Tree Lighting – Saturday, November 24th (5:30pm); Get to Lopes Square to check out the magnificent Lobster Pot Tree. This creative coastal Christmas Tree is built every year by the Popko family out of 100+ lobster pots, thousands of lights, buoys and ribbons. Cocoa and cookies will be served during the lighting ceremony and the tree will stay lit through January.

Enjoy and give thanks!
