Hopefully this post finds all of us Cape Codders in good health and spirits this February. I’m a firm believer that one of the secrets to finding happiness is by helping others. There are many ways we can lend a hand in our local community.
On Monday, February 26th, The Pointe will be hosting their 9th annual HOW Benefit Dinner. HOW, or Helping Our Women, is an organization that provides all-important services to local women and all community members suffering from life changing and terminal illness. The ways in which they help are truly wide ranging, assisting individuals with everything from advocacy and health care information to transportation and financial support. HOW has been championing this great cause for decades and relies on community support from business and individuals. All costs for this year’s dinner are covered by the Pointe and 100% of the ticket and dinner sales go to HOW. In the past eight years, we have raised about $30,000 through this event. Talk about a win-win! If you would like attend and show support please give us a call to make reservations.
The Soup Kitchen in Provincetown or SKIP, located at 10 Shank Painter Road, is another organization that has been successfully nourishing those in need ever since it was established in 1992. Each day they prepare around 100 nutritious meals and provide resources and referral services to those in need. In order for them to maintain their wonderful commitment to our community they rely on donations from individuals and business as well as volunteers. If you’re interested in helping more information can be found on SKIP’s website.
Let’s show some support!
